Why this exists.
Foothold started from a small frustration: most financial writing is either condescending (a pyramid of avocado-toast jokes), terrifying (charts and acronyms shouting at you), or trying to sell you something. There's a quieter middle — people who want to actually understand how the system works, decide for themselves, and get on with their lives.
We write for those people. Specifically: young professionals in their twenties and thirties, building careers, starting to earn real money, and quietly wondering if they're missing something everyone else seems to know.
What this is
A short, finite curriculum. Five chapters, written like a magazine, free to read, no signup, no ads, no upsell. It explains the economy, markets, investing, goals, and habits in plain language with honest metaphors. You can finish the whole thing in an evening.
What it isn't
It isn't financial advice. We don't know your situation. We don't recommend specific stocks, funds, or platforms. We won't tell you whether to buy a house. We will tell you how the underlying systems work, so that when someone doesgive you advice — a friend, an advisor, a podcast — you have the vocabulary to tell signal from noise.
The vibe
Patience compounds. So does honesty. So does a quiet evening with a good book and a paid-off credit card.
That's the whole brief. Start with the lessons.
